Cricut Create a Critter 2 Best Witches Owl Card

Today's card was made using the new Cricut Create A Critter 2 cartridge, which is just beyond cute!  I loved this little "witchy"owl and spooky tree and thought I would pair them to make a card.  I sized the card at 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" (A2).
The owl was cut at 2-1/4" and the tree at 4-1/2".
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this new Halloween twine shown above from Trendy Twine (note: Trendy Twine sent me this twine to review).  It has a nice quality feel to it and the colors are fantastic!  I especially liked the grape and black twine for this Halloween card.  Twine is incredibly fun and easy to use.
You can see their latest trendy twine colors like those above and MORE HERE!

Do you see the super cute stamp "Best Witches" used above?  They are by Joy's Life (not this Joy, though...LOL!) and are part of the Halloween Pun Stamp set (note: Joy sent these to me to try out!).  I love the fun puns she came up with (fangtastic...LOL!) See the set below:
Halloween Puns available HERE

Don't forget we are giving away a Cricut Cupcake Wrappers cartridge this week!  Perfect for all your party needs!
How can you win?
1) Leave a comment below answering this question: What is the best Halloween costume you ever wore?  Mine is actually dressing up as a power line pole and being attached to my best friend by wires. I know, sounds dorky, but it was really cool in real life....LOL!
2) Subscribe or follow the blog.

That's it!  Winner will be announced on Sunday, September 13, 2012 and has two weeks to claim prize.  We ship worldwide so all are welcome to enter.  Allow 4-6 weeks to receive prize.

Be sure and check out Joy's and Melanie's personal blogs for more creative goodness at Obsessed with Scrapbooking and Courtney Lane Designs!

Cute Halloween card!! The best costume we had was the whole office dressed up as scarecrows. The idea was to dress down. I sure wish we had the Cricut back then, we photocopied leaves to decorate and we all had to hand cut them.

After a summer full of road construction, the 3 people in my department at work went as "road construction". I was an orange barrel with flashing light on a head band cut from Plantin Cartridge (the bag that looks like a old bowling bag). One was a traffic cone & we even had the flagger.

Really cute Halloween card. I need to use more materials like the twine on this card. The best Halloween costume I ever wore as an adult was my Statue of Liberty, which I actually made. Besides finding the perfect colored material to match the real Liberty, I made a light up crown using battery operated lights, and I fashioned my torch with flames out of cellophane paper and a flashlight. It was definitely my favorite, probably because I spent so much time on it and it was more crafty than other costumes I made.

I would love to win.

I don't think your costume was dorky, clever! My best was a last minute costume my parents threw together for us kids. We went as trash. We wore a stuffed trash bag with some bits of trash coming out at our necks. We took third prize at the Halloween party!

Off to check out the twine.

This is a really cute card. I rarely dress up for Halloween but I do remember dressing up as a kid. My favorite costume was a mermaid costume that I had (my mom's was a matching one too). She would put my hair up in a pony tail and put green and blue glitter all over my hair and face. I wore this costume for a few years in a row and even to a late bday party of mine.

Jenn- first time mama

Donna said...

I got to school and forgot I needed a costume so my sister, who was in high school, "quickly" bought a pattern and fabric and made me an angel costume and brought it to me just before we started bobbing for apples!

I love everything about this blog post today. Love the card, love the puns and love the cupcake papers cartridge. Honestly I don't remember my halloween costumes. I'm pretty sure they were sheets with holes cut out for eyes. But, I developed a love of sewing early and made some very elaborate costumes for my son when he was small. I made a teenage mutant ninja turtle back in the late 80's - man that thing was so realistic! I also made him a garfield costume that had the big giant head. It was amazing. I hand painted the stripes on it. I love Halloween!

Love the Card! I think my favorite Halloween costume would have had to be my ladybug costume that I wore when I was a kid- I don't think I wanted to limit it to wearing it just at Halloween though!!!

My favorite Halloween outfit was about 6 years ago...I dressed up like dorthy from the wizard of oz. A lady from my church made my outfit and it was so cute. She also made my boyfriends outfit, it was the lion. Then we got a couple from our church to go with us and they were the tin man and glenda the good witch. We had so much fun. Just went to family and friends houses and then went to taco bell. We had a ball. I like the card and would love to have the cupcake holder cart.

Love the cute critter owl Halloween card. Very cute and great use of twine. I love using twine, ribbon, and rick-rack embellishments.
I have to say the most fun and best Halloween Costume I ever wore was way back when I was 10 years old, back in 1961 (oops, did I just give away my age!) Pippy Longstockings came out on TV and I wanted to be like her so bad, with all her adventures. So that year for Halloween I dressed up like Pippy Longstockings with wires in my pigtails to make them stick straight out and everything. Miss matches shoes and socks, and wackey patterns & color combinations in my clothes. It was so much fun. And to think, other than maybe the hair, I've seen some kids dressing like that for real around town sometimes, today! I must have started a trend.. hahaha!
Have a great week and thanks for taking me back down Memory Lane. I'd almost forgotten about that...Leaving you with a smile on my face!

Silly in KY,

I wore a Large Clown outfit once. It wasn't scary or anything. The problem was... it was WAAAAY to BIG! I started tripping over my clown shoes and the bottom of the outfit. It also didn't help I couldn't see around the head full of Orange Hair! Everyone started calling me the "Crash Clown"

Barb D. said...

Don't see anything I don't like about this card. I am so wanting the CAC2 cart. My fav Halloween costume was as a flapper with flouncy skirt, headband, lots of glitz. My husband was the bartender with the white shirt, mustache and towel over the arm. Fun party. (we were the hosts). Should have had the cupcake cart back in June when my daughter and I made 210 cupcakes for my granddaughter's wedding!!

The best costume I wore (to an adult party) was a black angel outfit consisting of huge black wings. I never wore them again, as it was difficult to walk and not have someone run into my wings. It was a cute outfit, however.

I love the card! I really like the background paper you used. I had some great costumes as a kid because my Mom sewed, but my favorite costume since I was an adult was the year my husband and I went to a party as a black-eyed pea and a black-eyed Susan. He had a large letter P appliquéd to the front of his shirt and we painted around his eyes with black and I wore a name tag with the name Susan on it and also painted around both of my eyes with black. It was very "punny" and all of our friends loved and were envious of the simplicity.

My favorite costume was one I made out of chicken wire and papier mache. It was a funny face that went from the top of my head to my rear end, and I wore it backwards so that my rear end looked like a big belly. Made it kind of hard to go trick-or-treating, though, as I had to walk backward!

My best custom was that of a witch. I had lots of long hair when I was younger. I teased it up really big, used my old college graduation gown, and added all the necessary green make-up. I had a pot full of candy and stood outside near the front door. I am afraid I scared some of the smaller children.
Anyway, I love the owl you used on your card.
