Two Quick and Easy Father's Day Cards

I have two Father's Day cards to show you today that should be easy and quick to put together.

My first Father's Day card is from the Cricut Lite Billionaire cartridge. I cut out this car image at 4", all the layers except for the shadow layer.  Since I didn't use the shadow feature, I had to add in the windows, so I used some silver Stardream shiny paper for them. The card is sized at 4-1/4" x 5-1/2".

I intended the car to go off the card so it could fill the space.  I just then used the trimmer to slice off the back end of the car.  The background paper is from Bella Blvd. and the cardstock is from Core'dinations.  I used a Studio G stamp for the sentiment and punched it out with an EK Success punch.  I laid the sentiment on top of a (conveniently) matching ribbon I had handy.  Viola!  Done!

My second Father's Day card is from the Summer Celebrations Cricut cartridge. I cut this Super Dad emblem at 4-3/4". This is actually an easel card made in A2 size (4-1/4"x5-1/2").  Below you see it flattened and then propped up.  Paper by Close to My Heart.

Don't forget we are giving away a Spring Cottage cartridge this week!

How can you win?

1) Leave a comment below telling what crafty projects you are currently working on.  I'm working on the next Cricut release (big surprise, I know...LOL!).
2) Subscribe or follow the blog!

That's it!

Winner will be picked on Sunday, June 17, 2012 and has two weeks to claim their prize.  Allow 4-6 weeks for delivery.

Cute cards! Today wew are going toCKC in ThevWoodlands, then my granddaughter is spending tonight and tomorrow with me and we will work on cards. My big projects are working on a fishing scrapbook for my husband (not too bad) and the big project, putting his little league coaching pictures in an album (albums). He coached every year from 1979 through til 2007 and then 1 more year in 2010. He looks through the pictures a lot, so they are now out of date order, but he can tell me every child's name. I was at all the games and only remember some of the names. This is a huge undertaking.

I've never scrap booked anything, just no patience.. but I've made a giant folder to put my 4 year old's school work in.. so its like a giant scrap book.. we have big pink post it notes to "journal on" ie. tell the story of her pictures, what she did in kindy that day. I have my camera and tripod set up so we can snap a few photo's to add and the other side is for things we make at home. A lot less intimidating than a *real* scrapbook.. and more manageable for me :)

I am working on a series of cards for my best friend. She was in a car accident 2 months ago, and injured her neck rather severely. Her doctor said it would take up to 9 months to heal. I have been sending her a card every week to keep her spirits up, and to remind her that God loves her, and will heal her. She is very involved in our church, and has had to step down from several things she normally does for the summer; mission trips, VBS, etc. This has hurt her heart deeply, and she feels she is not doing what she should be. I just want to remind her that God wants her to take the time to heal her body, and take care of herself. Thanks for the opportunity to win the cartridge. Sorry for the long post. Oh, and I know my friend would appreciate your prayers for her situation. Thanks! GG

The Spring Cottage Cricut Cartridge would be an inspiration to create projects being that I am a gardener. I just finished a card using the cricut cartridge Create a Critter. I used the peanut image. I dressed one peanut like a man with a hat on and the other peanut like a girl with a cute bow on top. My niece’s mother would call her daughter her little peanut and now she is older and found a boyfriend. Now mom has a his and her peanut

Right now I am making 20 pyramids boxes (TBBM2) with a sphinx head(Destinations)attached to their fronts. I'm also making the coffin boxes and cards from Life's a Party. I am making these for a co-worker for her son's birthday.
TFS your great cards.

I am working on (need to make) a Father's Day card for my hubby, cards to send out to Operation Write Home and I'm planning a shadowbox for my hubby's birthday (at the end of July).
I hope you have a wonderful Father's Day! Thanks for sharing the awesome cards! It's so funny that guys are so hard to make cards for. They are all so different, whereas girls you know you can usually just make it pretty and it'll fly. Men (and boys) require something of interest to them which could range from fishing to motorcycles to robots! They're so blessed to have women who care enough to make them something they'll love!

I am currently working on sewing projects. Some dinosaur tails for my friends little boys and some cupcake pin cushions. Nice cards! If I win the cartridge I'll use it to make favors for the same friends birthday, because she likes strawberries! TFS!
