How to easily get your dishwasher loaded!

Do dishes stack up in your sink because no one knows if the dishwasher is clean or dirty?  Never mind that the dishwasher is inches from the sink and could easily be checked.  No one will do it and so the dishes start lining the sink and countertop.  To combat this problem, I created this "clean dirty" laminated magnet sign for my dishwasher.
I decided that the "dirty" would be in green, signaling it's ok to put dishes in the dishwasher; red for the word "clean" would mean stop or don't put dirty dishes into the dishwasher.
In the Cricut Craft Room,  I laid out the clean and dirty wording as shown above so that I could lay out my green and red vinyl easily.  I used vinyl because lining up the words would be so easy this way - just use the transfer tape and it goes on like a dream. The words are actually from the Cricut Word Collage cartridge and I went through and removed the other words using the "hide selected contour" feature.
I used the Cricut Craft Room Basics free cartridge on the Cricut Craft Room for the shaped background.  It measures approximately 6" x 8". I wanted the sign nice and big so there would be no chance of mis-reading it.  LOL!
I used the Provo Craft Your Story laminating machine to laminate the sign and keep it clean.  I used scissors to cut around the shape.
Finally, after laminating, I added strips of magnet material to the back of the sign.

Don't forget we are giving away an Over the Hill Cricut cartridge this week!

Great idea, I also have the your story laminator and book binder and love it. I recently had to laminate a sign for no smoking oxygen in use for my door. I care for my mom in my home and recently she has been put on oxygen. Thank goodness I had the laminator.

Clever except we do not use our dishwasher. We have used it a couple times but find that it is more green to wash by hand. I'm the dishwasher and I wash the dishes by hand. As far as other crafty things I do I have a sign that indicates when it is recycle day which is every 2 wks so that we know to take the recycle down to the curb for pickup.

I create large die cuts of my grand daughter's favorite Disney character, to decorate her room. I cut out a shirt, pant, sock, etc shapes. Then run it thru a xyron machine so my daughter can stick the shirt on the drawer that holds the shirts and so on. This helps my grand daughter with a visual aid as to which drawer holds what and it speeds getting dressed.
Thanks for the opportunity to win this fun cartridge

I love this idea, I'll make one to give to my mother in law, cause we never know when the dishes are clean or dirty, pretty much because she washes them before putting on the machine lol!! Now I'm working on my disney die cuts, trying to sell them on ebay... hope i can make some money...

I think I like the idea- but the words chosen are kind of confusing. I think I would have chosen
FILL or FILL ME (in green)
EMPTY or EMPTY ME (in red)

If only it was that easy to get my family to unload or load the dishwasher. Great cartridge give away. Thanks so much for the opportunity.

I hadn't thought of making a dirty/clean magnet with my Cricut, I will do it now. I am over the hill and would love to win, and will use it because I am proud of being over the hill. It will be fun to use for the things I make for my friends and hubby!

Wonderful idea. My dishwasher is the old fashion type. The best thing about him. (yes it does have a name) Is that he is automatic. Its drys and puts the dishes away
after washing them. Doesn't require power so is very energy efficent.
Would love to win the cartridge. I have just help ce3lebrate my mothers 90th. Now I have heaps of friends with milestones this year and this cartidge will help me to make cards for them.
Many thanks and god bless.

This is a great idea and I wish I had a dishwasher so I could use it. Maybe I can get hubby interested in the kitchen remodel project we need to do if I show him your wonderful magnet!

What a clever idea! Love the fact that it's big. . .the kids and the husband shouldn't miss it, right? ;-) I like the looks of the Over the Hill cartridge, and at my age, I would have a lot of opportunitiesmto put it into use. I love to make cars and scrapbook. . .and I'm getting my 5 year old granddaughter interested as well!

What a super idea. I always open the dishwasher door and then it's duh the dishes are clean, don't put the dirty ones in!!! Getting kids to even get their dishes off the table is hard, much into the dishwasher!! carjo40@gmail.com

My latest love is my Cricut, I love to make party decor, and cards. I started with crosstich in my twenties, did plastic canvas - made the kids pins, barbie furniture and decor items. I just got a sewing machine to use with my cards plus I have some fun things I want to make for my grandchildren. I love crafts.

This is the best idea to achieve this yet! I've heard of folks doing different things to 'remind' certain household members from loading dirty dishes into a clean load. Ugh. Thanks so much for this!
