Freedom Independence Day Layout

Today's single page layout has room for that one special photo from the 4th of July holidays.  Sometimes, just one photo stands out and tells the story.

Using the Independence Day Mini Cricut CartridgeI cut the patriotic highway sign at fit to page and then layered on the Freedom title and the "USA" title.

This is a quick and easy layout to make!

SPECIAL REQUEST:  We need prayers for Emma Aguilar's son Aaron, who has been hospitalized for a week now and the doctors don't know what's going on with him.  Emma owns and operates the My Creative Time stamp company and is a sponsor of ours.  Any prayers you can direct for her sweet son who is only 13 years old would be greatly appreciated.

Don't forget we are giving away a fabulous cartridge this week (and every week!)!  It's the Cricut Divine Wedding Cartridge (value $55).

How can you win?

1) Leave a comment below telling what special food you make for the 4th of July holiday. Mine has been brownies in the past but this year, I am making a fruit pizza dessert.  I found a recipe that uses almond flour since I've gone gluten free.
2) Subscribe or follow the blog.

Winner will be selected on Sunday, July 1, 2012.  Winner has 2 weeks to claim prize.  Allow 4-6 weeks for delivery.

Your layout is great. My prayers go out for Aaron. I work at a children's hospital in Austin and it is so sad to see the sick kiddos! I know our hospital had fantastic doctors and I am sure Aaron's hospital does too.

Praying for Aaron and his doctors and hoping he will be much better real soon.......Our favorite family dessert is a chocolate eclair cake. The top layer is cool whip (white) with cherries scatterred around (red) and it would be so easy to add a little blue to make it a patriotic looking red, white , and blue Independence Day dessert. I just might have to do that this year...
Thanks for the opportunity to win a cartridge...a girl just can't have too many of them and a new one is always nice to have !

I don't really make a special food for the fourth, but we try to grill and cut up a watermelon! Lately, we've been trying to make sweet potato fries too - yum!
Prayers for the Aguilar family.

Cute layout! I can never narrow it down to one photo!! I usually make rice krispie bars with red, white and blue sprinkles on them for the 4th - not too original, but that's what I do!! Praying for Emma and Aaron and the whole family. I am working on an album for my son's wedding from last Aug., this would be a fun cart to win. Thanks!!

I love the 4th of July layout! The shape of the sign makes it really unique. My favorite food to make for 4th of July (or any other holiday for that matter) is Jello Berry Salad. Make a klarge box of sugar free raspberry jello using only HALF of the hot water (don't add cold water at all). Then add about 3 bags of frozen fruit. I use 2 bags of mixed berries (raspberries, blueberries and blackberries) and 1 bag of cherries. Stir to thaw the berries somewhat. Before it sets up totally, add 1 medium can (DRAINED ) of crushed pineapple (in juice, not syrup) and stir. It will set up in minutes and the whole thing is sugar free! It's sweet, intensely-flavored and it's really a bunch of fruit held together by a little jello...Weight Watcher friendly!

You can never go wrong with red, white and blue.

A few years ago I started making snickerdoodles and rolling them in red, white and blue sugar and calling them Yankee Doodles.

We are smoking a pork shoulder. We always smoke something for the 4th & have traditional baked beans, potato salad & home made ice cream. No firreworks this year due to the high heat, dry conditions & burn bans. Saying prayers for Emma's son & family!

That is such an adorable and patriotic layout! How fantastic! I don't cook, so I won't be making anything special for the family gathering this year! I usually just pick something up to bring along! LOL!

I will pray for Aaron to have a speedy recovery! Also, I will keep Emma in my prayers so that she may keep up her strength during this challenging ordeal.

The one thing everyone wants me to make on the 4th is lemon shake ups. It's fresh squeezed lemonade that we find at amuzement parks and everyone loves refreshing lemonade, it's American!

Although I usually fix hotdogs and hamburgers with all the trimmings for the 4th I also try to include barbecued ribs. All of my family love them and they add so much to the celebration.

I generally don't cook on the 4th of July because we always spend it at our County Fair!

My husband makes smoked Baby Back Ribs using the recipe handed down from my dad who recently passed. My dad had been making ribs with this recipe since I was a little girl over 45 years ago! My dad used a "real" charcoal grill (no gas) and now my husband has a smoker he uses.
