Need a cute Cricut luggage tag?

When my daughter Kelly lost the name tag on her violin case, I knew just the thing to do!  I had seen the Cricut digital Luggage Tags cartridge and was dying to make a fun tag.  I love this swirly tag and I chose Kelly's favorite colors.  Take a look below at the Luggage Tags digital cartridge:
I also used the Cricut Lite Feeling Groovy cartridge to weld Kelly's name together for the front of the tag.  Feeling Groovy is one of my favorite fun font cartridges - it is a Walmart Lite cartridge and also available on cricut.com HERE.
Here's another view of the tag.  OK, I know it's huge.  But there are LOADS of violins in the orchestra and this way, she'll be able to spot hers quickly.
Below is the back of the tag.  First I created a text box of a size that would fit on the tag. Then, I put my info in the text box.  I printed it out on regular paper.  After that, I used painter's tape to adhere the tag to the paper I just printed.  Then, you run that through the printer again to get it printed right onto your tag.  And if you mess up, just turn the tag over...so maybe I have first hand experience with that part...LOL!
The final step was to run it through the Provo Craft Your Story laminating machine since this violin case takes a bit of a daily beating.  I trimmed out the tag with scissors and it's ready to go.

Also, we are giving away an Over the Hill Cartridge!!

How can you win?

1) Leave a comment below on this post - do you use the Cricut Craft Room?
2) Subscribe or follow the blog.

Winner will be announced next Sunday, May 27, 2012 and the winner has two weeks to claim the prize.  Allow 4-6 weeks to arrive.

no, i do not use the CCR.. My internet is not reliable enough to access and use such formats.

As for the TAG. Love it. This would be a fun to make for all sorts of reasons, including, name tags for little tackers when on school outings. It would also work great with gift bags or fancy boxes. The imagination would be the limit, very versitile.

Would LOVE to win this cartridge this week. My hubby turns 50 in a couple weeks and has said he wants the whole over the hill party theme. This would help out SOOOO much! Thanks for the opportunity. :)

I've played around with it....but my computer is in my office (upstairs) and my cricut is in my studio (in the basement). So, really no opportunity to actually cut with it yet.

Your tag is darling, and a great idea. I just started investigating the Craft Room last night. I love my Gypsy, didn't plan to use the craft room, but my eyes are getting so bad that working on that tiny screen is sometimes far less than fun. I'll give the craft room a try. Meanwhile, I'd love to have this cartridge, love the ironwork on it.

I can see other potential for this tag...Christmas, Birthday, Anniversary, etc., gifts. I think Big is better you can see it & find it fast!My sister-in-law would get big purple belts & put around her luggage so she would spot them a mile away at the airport, it works! Thanks for sharing your luggage tag with us.I have not tried the ccr yet!

Love your tag! I haven't tried using the CCR yet - I haven't had the motivation to use it...I just got an imagine for Christmas and have been trying to learn how to use it.

I'd like to use CCR but my Imagine won't communicate with it. Maybe when it returns from the Cricut Hospital in Utah it will work! I'm hoping!

Yes I use the Cricut Craftroom, I love it! In fact the other day I had to use my Imagine without using the craftroom and had to figure out how to use it again!

Very clever and cute tag. I hadn't thought of using them as luggage (or violin) tags.
