Quick and Easy Baby Onesies with Cricut and SEI Iron On Material!

Today's baby onesie project was inspired by the SEI iron-on sheets that I found at Hobby Lobby the other day.  Here's what they look like:
They retail for $2.99 a sheet and you can use a coupon OR order them at the link above.  They also have a black and white polka dot, green cammo, pink cammo, zebra stripe, cheetah, etc.  SO CUTE!

I read the directions first (the engineer in me) and they were vague on the machine settings.  So, I went to YouTube and they were vague on the machine settings.  So, through trial and error, this is what I found to work the best (and those letters were not a super easy cut):

1) Blade at 6
2) Pressure at 4 (4 bars)
3) Speed at 3 (3 bars)
MULTICUT 2 x

When you do this, it cuts like butter!  I used the regular blade also.
I used the Cricut Craft Room to lay out my images.  The bow tie was cut at 1-1/2" and was from the Billionaire cartridge (although lots of other cartridges have bow ties). The "Boy" (cut at 2-1/2") and the "Girl"(cut at 2-3/4") were from the Graphically Speaking cartridge.  And the bunny (cut at 2-1/4") was from the Holiday Cakes cartridge.

I made sure to FLIP the images within the craft room program as you can see above. If you were cutting from the cartridges straight, don't forget to flip the images.
Now, anytime I cut fabric, chipboard or iron-on material, I use painter's tape to hold down the edges (as seen above).  Also, with this SEI iron on sheet, the rough side goes up, the paper side down against the mat. Make sure your cut doesn't go on the area that doesn't have any rough white stuff since that's the adhesive.
Lay out your images on your onesie.
Iron on the front side for 15-20 seconds, pressing firmly, using a dry iron at a medium setting (not into the steam part).  Then, turn the onesie inside out, and iron for another 30 seconds.  Let cool for 2-3 minutes or until cool to touch.
Start gently peeling off the paper backing.
It can get tricky so go SLOW.
Almost done!
Here's the girl onesie.  Don't lose that pesky dot to the "i"...
Peel slowly.
And here they are completed!  With these instructions, you can do this project in about 10 minutes (both onesies!).

Don't forget we are giving away a Cricut Fun in the Sun cartridge!

I've done iron ons using my computer, but I haven't tried my cricut. I saw some attempts at doing so at a recent crop I attended with some success, but nothing like what you've shown. These are so cute! I will definitely have to try this technique!
