Flowery Gable Box from Cricut Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2

This square gable box was made using the new Cricut Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 cartridge.  This new cartridge is fabulous.  Check out just a few of the boxes available on this cartridge!

There are more boxes on the cartridge than shown above.

Cricut Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 cartridge is the long awaited follow up to the very popular Tags, Bags, Boxes and More Cricut cartridge and comes with a new feature.  It has the ability to score your project before you even cut it out!  How cool is that!  A scoring blade is being sold that will work with this cartridge and more in the future.  Very convenient for scoring that milk carton, which is a bear without this.

So, how will this work?  Take a look at the handbook page below:
The base cut is for the milk carton in one piece.  The shift to the base is actually the scoring that goes with the base cut.  So to cut the base milk carton, you would first use the SHIFT-Base milk carton key to score with the scoring blade.  Then hit "Load Mat".  Replace scoring blade with cutting blade. Then cut the Base Milk Carton.  The "Load Mat" returns the blade back to the original starting point, which is essential for this to work.

Above, you can see the next two feature keys (Box Section 1 and Box Section 2).  Those work the same way and are so you can make a much larger milk carton and then piece it together.  You would not use the base key to get the larger box - just these two keys glued together.

Now, this cartridge also has some really fun tags, cards, envelopes, word art and skinny word art to use with the new gel pens Provo Craft is coming out with - so fun!  You can see the web handbook HERE.  Also, there are assembly instructions HERE.
Now, let's talk about this flower.  This was made using the Cuttlebug Quilling Kit called Flower Fringe. You just run the sections through the Cuttlebug and then quill the center.  Gorgeous!
I cut this square gable box at 6-1/2", which makes the gable box about 2-1/2".  Not a huge box but a fun party favor size that you could fill with almonds, etc.  Remember, on this cartridge, you could also cut the box in two sections and make it considerably larger.  I just went for smaller.

Don't forget that we are giving away a brand new Cricut Fun in the Sun cartridge, just released last month!

Hi - as a newbie cricutter, my current favourite trick is finding things to do with my disasters (my fault not the machine). I am tearing my less than perfct experiments into spirals and making paper flowers. I also think following blogs such as this for the experience I don't yet have is valuable. I hope I am eligible for the draw as I live in the UK. Thanks

Love the box. Saw the cart on sale online before Hello Thursday, I was thinking it was strange.

Wow my favorite craft trick....find time to craft! I have decided that I have to put crafting on my schedule or I don't do it! On the practical side, I love using a lint roller to pick up those tiny pieces off of my cutting mat, what a life saver!

Gorgeous box. My tip is for the Cricut - once cutting is complete, I push the Load Paper button. This returns the blade to its starting position so that I can check and see if everything actually was cut deep enough. Thanks for the chance to win.

Oh my gosh, I guess I can blame it on turning 65 in a couple of weeks or that I just can't snap. I have been going crazy trying to find where I see these great examples of items in Cricut Carts and after I posted my last comment, I saw where it was here and I can go back and see by cartridge. I had you bookmarked, but now I have changed the name and it comes up even before the Cricut. Thanks so much, these are great for inspiration.

I really need to get the Tags Bags and Boxes Cartridge. I love the box.

My tip is to use zig glue to make my mats sticky again. The mats get so expensive and what better way to reuse them. I thoroughly wash the mats first, dry them, apply the permenent zig glue and let it dry for about a 1/2 hour.

The Zoo Keeper said...

I love this cartridge! They did take WAY too long!

Andi said...

I must have this cartridge! My tip to new Cricut users is to use a Zig 2-way chisel pen to make your mats sticky again. I also use generic baby wipes to scrub the "lint" off of them.

I am always amazed by what the cricut can do. I always keep the plastic cover on my cutting mat when not in use. I think it stays sticky longer and for sure keeps the dust off it.

Dianna G said...

What an adorable gift box!! Guess I will have to add BOTH the Tags, Bags, Boxes & More AND 2 to my wish list of cartridges - LOL!! My favorite crafting tip, I just learned at the Cricut site's Craft Room - using multiple mat layers to lay out my whole project, and then all I have to do is hit cut and it brings up each mat for me to load and cut. So much easier than designing one layer and/or color, then cutting it, then going back to design and cut the next layer/color, etc. Am also enjoying Craft Room more since I learned how to link my cartridges so that I don't ever have to plug them into my Cricut again - I have cutting & designing access to all of my cartridges in any combination at the same time this way. Would love to win this week's Fun in the Sun cartridge - I don't have any summer cartridges (yet) - LOL!!

JANLYNN said...

I put this cartridge on my wish list when I first saw it. I love the first TBBM and this one is even more. My tip is to look for things to alter with my cuts, papers and such. Boxes, cans, frames and even cards I have received. I use parts or all of them to create something very different.

Hello-My favorite craft trick is after using all of my pop dot circles, I cut up the remaining foam and use that too. Nothing goes to waste and it works great for smaller letters that you need to pop off your page!

I so enjoyed your photos from your other blog! Also, loving this cart, and understand that there is a rubber mat to go with it for scoring. Do you know anything abt that? Great cart and Cuttle bug kit!

hopefulcrafter said...

My favorite tip is when cutting with my cricut machine, if I don't know how something will look or how big it really will be, I always cut a sample out in plain white paper so I don't use my good card stock. Great box, I am giving a bridal shower and was trying to think of something different to put the favors in and now I have my idea, thanks to you.

Dianne said...

My tip is try not to touch the surface of the sticky mat with your hands. There is oil on them and it interferes with the way it holds the cardstock. I use my spatula all the time. I have had my Cricut for almost three years and have only used three mats. The third mat is about 11 months used and still working well. That's my tip.

This is so beautiful! I'm not sure whether it's the box, itself, that I love, or the patterned paper and flower! Either way, I want this cartridge now! My tip is: Allow a dot of Zig 2-way to dry on the end of a pencil. Once it's dry, it will become tacky. I use it to pick up and place small pieces and layers. It's a great help in maneuvering tiny pieces into place. Thank you for the opportunity to win!

Love the little box from the new Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge! That cartridge is on the top of my list to buy. the flower is really gorgeous!

Love the box and can imagine many uses. My tip is to color coordinate your scrap papers--I have always saved my scraps but haven't really ever used them until I organized them by color. Now as soon as I'm done with a project I trim up the paper and put it in my scrap bag by color. I find myself using them all the time for smaller cuts.

My favourite tip or trick would be to invest in a glass table top. (The ones from Ikea are safety glass and well made). Why?
1.you can cut directly onto it without a cutting mat, it wont leave marks. Your cutting tools will glide and not stick.. circle cutters, scalpels etc.
2. Nothing will stick to it permanently. Inks wipe off, or can be cleaned with alcohol cleaner, glues can be peeled or scraped off etc.
3. if it doesn't have an opaque backing you can put a light under it and use it as a light box. (Not having to buy a light box saved you half the cost of the glass top).

I love both cartridges. Sadly I don't have either so to win one would be awesome. My tip is to try the Bazzill Marathon Glu Runner. It is awesome and works beautifully on all types of mediums. Ccn35@aol.com

Love this scoring ability! My favorite trick is to use dimensional glue to make cricut/diecut images more dimensional.

Adorable box and beautiful flower! My favorite tip is to wash the Cricut cutting mat when in doesn't seem tacky enough. When washing doesn't help, spray it with repositional adhesive spray to get more use out of the cutting mat.

What a lovely milk carton!

My favorite tip is to use a bow easy to tie a perfect bow everytime. You can also tie a tiny bow using a fork. It takes a little practice, but it is a really cute little bow.

This would be an awesome cart to own.
My favorite crafting tip is to use a magazine page as a place to lay items you are putting glue on. When the page is all sticky from the excess adhesive/glue, turn the page and you have a clean surface to glue on.
Thanks for all your great ideas.

Love your box. I just got the first Tags, Bags, Boxes and more for Christmas and now I want this second one : ) My favorite tip is to try and stay organized and don't get overwhelmed. Just start with one layout (don't save the journaling to last) and pretty soon you will be have several layouts done.

Fabulous new cartridge!! What a terrific job on your box ~ your work is always amazing! Love the big bold flower! TIP - if you use the "red" sticky tape, use a tissue to remove the clinging film strip from your fingers, table, project, etc. Works!

I love the box, The colors make me long for spring. I buy bonding memories glue, the wider one from Close To My Heart and put it on my cutting mats when the stickyness wares off. I think it works better then the glue that is on them when you buy them.

That is a sweet box! Love the paper. I like to plan my layouts ahead of time. When I come up with an idea, I put the idea, pictures, papers, and embellishments in Close to My Heart's Resealable 13"x13 1/4" bags. So when I am ready to scrap, everything is right there.

This box is awesome!! My TTBM2 cart should be here any day and I can't wait to start using it! Thanks for the ideas! My tip is to keep all different types of adhesive on hand. Runners, large glue stick, little bitty glue pens etc...that way you never have too much or too little glue for whatever project you are working on. Thanks for the chance to win!!!! :)

OMG! That is the cutest box! My favorite trick is using the Tim Holtz Ruler (angled edge) to clear my cutting mats after I've filled the paper/mat with cuts...One or two swipes across the mat and all the bits are cleaned off and mat is ready to go again! Love this technique! Thanks for sharing such brilliant projects!
