Cricut Ole Bird and Flower Gift Bag

Ok, we have to clear up something right away - that bird was not black - he was dark purple.  For some annoying reason, he ended up looking black when I photographed him (GRR!).  A few photos below show his dark purple color.
This gorgeous, layered bird motif is from the new Cricut Ole cartridge.  This Spanish themed cartridge not only has some fun images and a funky layered font, but also 50 word art images in Spanish!  Very cute!  Check out some of the fun on the cartridge below:
Above you can see the purple of the bird and flower sections - still a little darker than in real life but better than nothing.
I cut the bird and flower image at 8" and it layers from the bottom up so the bird section is very sturdy since it is so many layers.  This is good because otherwise the cut would be very difficult to not damage.

I hope you enjoyed our gift bag week!  Coming soon will be birthday card week!

Don't forget that we are giving away a brand new Cricut Fun in the Sun cartridge, just released last month!

How can you win?

Thanks for showing us the versatility of a themed cartridge. I tend to shy away from the specific theme cartridges b/c my brain can't think out-of-the-box like that. I would only see a Cinco de Mayo card or a trip to Mexico in that collection of images!

One of my favorite tips/tricks is something a lot of Cricuteers do...I use blue painter's tape to tape down paper when my cricut mat isn't sticky anymore (before I recondition them) and I also use blue painter's tape for my cut-outs/shapes when I am printing sentiments on my computer. I can them remove them and there's no sticky residue left and very seldom does it ever present a problem when I peel off my cut/sentiment

I love your gift bag. The colors are beautiful and capture Spanish style. They love sharp, bold contrast in their artwork.
As for my tip: my daughter loves iron-ons, so I use heat and bond on my reminants, run them through the cricut with some painter's tape to hold them in place and she's a happy little crafter in training. I also use fabric paint to seal the edges of the fabric and add detail.

Debbie said...

I just love the Fun in the Sun Cartridge give-a-way. And love all of your creativity with all the different cartridges. Thanks :)

Love this Gift Bag....so pretty!!!

My tip is don't forget to MAKE things! Sometimes I am so involved in a long-term project, I run out & buy something instead of making it. It is so appreciated when you have spent the time making something special for a special someone!

Donna said...

Love the new cart! My tip is never purchase a tool that only has one use. There are so many new and fun tools out in the market, but some are for very specific uses - so they are not cost effective. I'm a multitasked and I like my tools to be also. Thanks for the chance to win.

Chris - Creations in Bloom said...

Great bag. Those bright colors are so fun.

mary mac said...

Darling bag, Joy! Love the new cart!
my favorite trick is to cut two. When i'm trying a new cut, i cut at least two in different sizes. This way i can play with the sizes and use the preferred size for the current item and have a second cut for a quick project another time, or to be used inside the card.

I can see that your birdy is purple. Frequently I have to go into Photoshop to fix the white balance of my pictures and that often fixes how the colors look. I know sometimes it's good to just get pictures done and uploaded, but it's something that might help...Anyway, my favorite crafting tip or trick is to use my dotty adhesive roller to put adhesive on smaller Cricut cuts.
