Today's gift bag is made using the new Cricut Garden Soup cartridge. I love, love, love this bee! Check out the other goodies on this new cartridge:
I needed a gift bag for a "secret sister" swap I was in at the Creative University event I just attended in Idaho. All I knew about her was that she liked yellow, orange and brown and disliked puke green. So, the yellow motif for the bee seemed to be a perfect choice.
The bee was cut at 3". Check out the bee's 3-D wings below. That is a layer on the bee and all you do is adhere the body and the wings lift up.
You can see below the wings from another angle.
Below is a close up of the word art, which was cut at 5-3/4". There is quite a lot of "bee" word art sayings on this cartridge besides this one including "Bee in Your Bonnet", "HapBee Birthday", "Mind Your Own Beeswax" and "Busy Bee". There are 50 fun, layered word art sayings on this cartridge.
The paper used was from the DCWV stack called Lemon Flower. You can find it at Joann's.
The files for Cricut Craft Room and the Gypsy are below. Included in the file is also the bee border, which I ended up not using but I didn't erase it.
Click HERE for the Gypsy file.

Melanie has a fabulous card made using this bee that you can see HERE!

«Oldest ‹Older 1 – 200 of 362 Newer› Newest»Oh wow! Am I first? I've been chomping at the bit for this cartridge...guess they put it up on Cricut.com but Walmart doesn't even have it yet from what I've seen. Weird, Anyway, lived in Tahoe for 2 years and have tons of lake pix to scrap so this would be a great add for me!! Love your BEE! Thanks for the chance to win!
Love that paper/colors you used! Super cute!
Love the bee. I love the bags you make. They just pop!
Love the gift bag! My tip is to organize first as you get your supplies. I wish I had done this, because I can't find what I need now!
Carol
that bee is so cute!
Adorable!Your projects are so inspiring and beautiful. I moved to Florida from Ohio 8 years ago, and it is fun in the sun. The cartridge would work wonderfully with my photos :) Thank you for both the chance to win and the great projects!
Oh my goodness..what a cute bag. Girl you sure don't lack in creativity..thank goodness...for that! Where oh where would we bee!
You sure show cased this cartridge awesomely....you are the bees knees!
Now I want this cartridge!!
Adorable card- I will have to look more at the cart. My favorite tip is to organize so you can have your most used items at your fingertips.
How cute is this? I love gift bags that are a bit different.
Love the bag! I really need to start decorating my own bags!
Such a cute bag thanks for sharing.
I think I have to get that cartridge! Adorable bee.

Love this bag!!! The paper combo just kills me. I love to use black to POP embellishments! Thanks!!!
Your bee bag is sooo cute! I love the raised wings and his googly eyes. I never realized there were so many Bee sayings!
Thanks for sharing your project! :)
So cute. The saying reminds me of my grandmother. Would love the cartridge as my in-laws live on a lake and we have tons of pics of summer fun! Keep up all the great inspiration we love it!
Cute card! Although I am afraid of bees, still cute. Organization is everything so that you make sure if you go to a crop you have everything you will need.

WOW!!! What great ideas. This is sooo cute!! I love it for so many different reasons.
Alaska mom of 6 :)
Fabulous bee! Love how the wings are! My favorite tip is to learn from others. Crafters are the kindest, most generous people, and they aren't afraid to share with you so you can learn and grow.
Cute idea! I absolutely love the wings...great dimension. I did not need this cart until I saw that! ;)
I love this!! The sayings are too cute.
What a cute bee card!

Thanks for the opportunity to add such a great cart to our collections of Cricut Carts!
My favorite "trick" is to use various types of foam tabs to lift different items up for dimension. It makes pages & cards so much more interesting to the viewer.
Thanks for ALL your great ideas!
Cute bag! I love the bee theme. The fun in the Sun cartridge looks like it has a lot of cute pieces. Thanks for the inspiration.
What a cute bee. My tip for crafters not as creative as Joy & Melanie is to follow their blogs. They have a great help to me.
Love love love the Bees Knees giftbag. I am getting a bee hive in a few months and knowing a hive produces way more honey than I can consume I am trying to come up with creative ways to gift the honey or honey products made my me to friends and family...these bags hit it spot on. Thanks for the great idea. I too would love an opportunity to win the summer time cartridge..summer is the favorite season of the year for my family..even though we live in the stifling hot Houston heat. =)
The Lemon Flower stack is one of my Spring/Summer favorites. Really cute word art! I like to put a drop of Zig two-way on the end of a pencil, and let it dry. Once dry, it becomes tacky, and will remain so until it's removed. I use this when I'm working with layers, or to pick up small pieces. Thank you for the opportunity to win!
The first thing I do is organize my supplies as I get them so I can find what I need. This would be a great cartridge to have. There are so many ideas!!
My tip is 'start with a clean desk' It's so much easier to finish something that way. Ask me how I know, lol. Lovin' that new cart :)
Love the colors on the card. Not sure what the saying means, but the bee is cute. Thanks for chance to win>
Cute and creative Gift Bag. Love the colors and paper used. The 3D effect sets it off. I will be taking a closer look at this cartridge. Thanks for the cahance to win,
Oh my! these new carts are really neat and the bee is so cute.
Super cute bag! I just love that saying! Everytime I read it, in my head it sounds very Southern! LOL.
My favorite crafting tip is inking the edges of my cricut cuts. It gives them depth. Also to get the paper to stick better to the cricut mats I roll a brayer over my cardstock once it's on the mat.
Thanks for the chance to win this new cartridge.
Yvonne
Cute project! Thanks for sharing your ideas and talents with us.
scrapbooknut67114 at gmail dot com
love this card. I put all my little (and I mean little ) scraps in a zip lock gallon bag and then when I am watching tv or riding in car, I punch out small blowers, butterflies or stars and keep them in separte baggies and then when I need them, there they are.
My tip is to use tacky glue mixed with water on your cricut mat to restick it. Thank you for the chance to win this fun cartridge.
Leann
Oh, how adorable! That is a gorgeous bee, and your paper choices are perfect!
I love that bee too. Great bag. Love Fun in the Sun. Thanks for the chance.

Love both cards! This cartridge would go great with surprise for the class of 2011 who went to the Jersey Shore last year for graduation and going again this year. I'm taking their pictures and putting them in a scrapbook and having them journal it when they are down there. Plus the pictures of us enjoying our pool!
Would really enjoy receiving and using this cartidge.
Have a great day, also. Love your gift bags.
What a cute bag! I am just learning all the "tips and tricks" through everyone else. So, thanks for posting all the ideas!
What a cute bag and I just love the bee!!! Awesome!!! Kellie
I would love to win this cartridge. Thanks for the chance.
Love this cartridge! My crafting trick is to keep all my scraps of colored papers sorted by color in hanging file folders in one of those plastic crates. It makes finding the right color so much easier than having to dig through boxes of assorted scraps. And I can actually use the scraps because I can find them.
anndiehl@centurytel.net
My favourite trick is to make lots of extra 3D flowers in advance. They come in very handy.
Super cute! I really love those round word art images!
thank you for the chance to win and love this cartridge.
Loved the bee! Lucky you, getting the opportunity to attend CU!
Great gift bag. Love how you gave the bee personality. My tip is to plan cutting allthe images one day, then put each cut together in a baggy... then on another day put all the images together. I find. I can get more done this way.

OK...Joy...I really loved what you did here...I already left a comment
but...I also loved what your comments were re: this cartridge and the 50 layered phrases.....so...I just ordered it....girl...you are to good at whatcha do...you and Mel and a perfect match....
What a cute idea! I love the bee.

i love this bag! Such a cute bee!
Adorable and I love the Garden Soup Cart options! Fun in the sun would be a great addition to my crafting. Thanks.
How cute! Love the bees 3D wings!Keeping my supplies organized make it easier to craft.
The bee is so cute. However, i found the button, blog topics on the right of the swcreen under Labels, clicked that at your suggestion, and what a plethora of info. I will be using that all the time. TFS.

Love your card. Makes me ready for Spring to get here.
cstephenson at q dot com
Cute bag. Love the bee also. My latest tip is Peachy Keen Stamps which make the cutest faces on Cricut cuts. Thanks
LOVE that gift bag!!! Organization helps a lot. you can avoid spending time searching for something, or avoid buying supplies twice.
Great bag! To organize I try to have everything I need for a project at my fingertips (notice I said try, it does not always happen that way) it makes everything go so much easier and you get done faster so you can move onto the next project.
Simply adorable! Your work is so clever! Tips ~ be organized ~ my paper is separated by colors, my scraps are separated by colors and put into baggies, my extra diecuts are in baggies and put in alphabetical order, I scan my cards and file them, buttons are separated by color ~ same for my ribbon. It all takes only a minute ~ but what a difference it makes! My favorite tip is cming to visit Everyday Cricut for your terrific ideas!

I love the 3-D bee and how you used it on the gift bag. Thamks for all the super projects. K
Love the card and the bag. They are very cute! My tip would be any small time you find for scrapbooking use it...even if it is only 10 minutes.
I NEED this cartridge. Not want.. NEED!!! Ok, now that I got that off my chest.. the bee cards are BEEutiful! n
Would love to have this cartridge! Thanks for the give away. Rosie
I love the 3-D bee and the cute bag. thanks for all the great projects. K
What a fun gift bag. Love the Bee and the bright colors.
Really cute bag! My mother-in-law would all of the images on that cartridge. Her garden is her happy place!
The bee bag is so cute! My kids' schools are bees/yellow jackets - this would make some cute items!
Love the card and yellow is my fav color. My tip is to make sure you fit all of your cut out pieces together before you glue them down.
Cute bag, your right he is a cute bee! Already a follower. Love your stuff.

Cute bag &that bee is even cuter! The bee would go well on a little boys page. Thanks so much for the ideas.
love that bee!
This cart. has some really cute cuts on it. You did a great job on the gift bag.
Love this bag! This cart is so adorable! Thanks for the chance to win!!
What a cute idea and phrase. I would love the fun in the sun cart. I am currently working a book from a trip we took and it would work great!!!
Love the gift bag! That bee is adorable!
Oh wow, cute bag. And for my favorite crafting tip - make all the projects Joy and Melanie make!!!!! You'll never be empty-handed again!
Hi everyone. Love the cute bag and know your swap friend should just love it too!! Would love to win the Fun in the Sun cartridge - have so many pics new and old from the Jersey shore and pool! My tips are to use and cut out the Cricut Cut chart that Joy published on her website and tape it to the lid of my cricut machine so I know the best settings for the paper I am using. Also, I have found that cleaning up my area after each layout I work on allows for better creativity on the next layout I am working on. Also, I can find all my tools/products after I put them all back in their place. This works both at home and at a crop!!
Thanks for the chance to win, ladies!

That really is a cute bee! Love the wiggle eyes on it. My favorite craft tip is when I'm making cards, I make as many at a time as my paper and on-hand supplies allow me to at the same time. It takes me so long to think of what I want on a card and then to choose the colors, so this way I have extras for when I need something in a hurry.
My craft tip would be to organize-that way you know exactly where everything is and when you do go to craft it will be easier.
Absolutely wonderful. :)
ADORABLE!!! That bee is just darling! Thanks for sharing!
housesbuiltofcards@gmail.com
www.housesbuiltofcards.blogspot.com
Oh Joy, the gift bag is fabulous! That bee is so cool!
My tip is to make two. It doesn't take much more time and its so nice to have a spare.
Love your creations!
My craft tip is to keep a lighter handy at your craft table to fuse the end of ribbon as you cut it. If you are careful, you get a beautiful crisp edge that does not ravel but does not look like you did anything to the ribbon.
Always save your packaging, not just from scrap supplies, which most of us do... But from gifts and toys, for example. If your son is into Transformers, saving the cardboard with the picture on his latest action figure can make a cute accent on your LO.
Love the bee bag! Love the 3-D look.

I love the bee and would be great to win the fun in the sun cartridge!
The bee is just as cute as can "bee". Would love to have this cartridge.

What a cute bag!! My tip is just to put things back after you finish a project just like you clean up your kitchen after cooking...makes the next project SO much easier. TFS
My tip. Clean up as soon as you finish a project so you can actually work at your space ( and find what you need). I sure need to get organized! Love to win this cartridge
This cartridge is perfect for summer! I love it, I needed a cartridge that has water sports on it! I wish all luck on the drawing, but sorry, I wish myself even more luck with this one!!!!
When gluing something intricate I place it face down on scrap paper then stroke the glue over the back of the design. Any surplus glue stays on the scrap paper when you remove the design away. I would love this cart, it reminds me that summer is not that far away. Great for cards in summer.
This bag is adorable. Thanks for sharing.

My tip is one for organizing. I have a composition notebook that I sectioned off for punches, quickutz, sizzix, inks, list of cricut carts, etc. I punch/cut an image from scraps for each shape and glue it in each section. I now know what I have and I take the notebook with me when I shop so I don't purchase duplicates!
I just love your card and that cartridge. I teach at a middle school whose mascot is a bee - the cart has a great 'grown up' bee I would love to use. Also love the cart up for grabs!
Beeutiful bag.
I have been Able to reuse my Cricut mats by spraying them with adhesive, just a light coat. Sure has made them last longer. I taught my nephew this trick and he loves it.
Would love to win Fun in the Sun as it has a great shark on there that I want to cut out in fabric.
I like to look through my cartridges every so often to find new or unusual cuts, Once Upon a Princess is perfect for this one, I always find something I can use! Thanks for the chance to win! lclass003atgmaildotcom
I am lovin this cart ;) Cannot wait to get my hands on it, thanks for the inspiration as always!!!
My tip - organize. I have all my pens and pencils together, Scrap paper in hanging files in file cabinet, and 12X12 paper sorted by colors in my paper storage shelf. Everytime I get something new I check and reorganize if I have to. works great. Know where everything is. Love the bees knees bag.
Love this cartridge. We spend the summer down the Nerw Jersey shore and I would put the cartridge to good use documenting all we do and pictures of our youngest grandson as he tottles around and plays. Thank you for the chance to win. The Bees Knees bag is awesome I will have to get that cartridge as well.
Such a cute card. This saying just always makes me giggle. Not sure why but its just a fun saying.
My tip would be to always have a Splat Mat when you do crafts of any sort. Love my Splat Mat and how it works with any glue, glitter or any mess you make, and cleans up so easy. papermemories4u@ yahoo.com
"Always finish what you start!" Sometimes, as I'm crafting, I look at my project & think "it's not coming out right" and the temptation is there to scrap it and start again. I've learned, though, to just keep moving forward and I'm hardly ever disappointed! What I think in the middle almost always turns around in the end!
love the bag, reminds me so much of Spring which I can't wait for lol. My tip is to keep everything that isn't on your desk in labelled boxes it makes finding things so much easier!
Absolutely love this . . . the bee is soooo cute.
adsmg@msn.com
My favorite crafting tip is that if you find a crafting tip that is really helpful to you, write it down somewhere so you can review it when you need it.
iLove your bag! So springy! Great colors! Thanks for the great prize giveaway~would love to win!
JenE, blossom93 at yahoo dot com
What an awesome card! Love the colors. Can't wait to get this cart!!
Bee-uatiful bag. I rarely scrap at home, so my tip is to always leave my tool bag with the essentials packed up and to take a realistic sized project with me--I used to take EVERYTHING and got less accomplished because I spent so much time lugging it all back and forth.
I love the tip for making the bee's wings 3D, so simple I can't believe I hadn't thought of that! Love the tips on the site, but really excited to use this one!
Looks cute! I love all the little sayings about bees.
What an adorable card, can hardly wait to get this cartridge..My tip is to put away and clean up after every project, it really helps and has a nice feel to it. Kind of like washing the car!!

Love the bees!
WOw, that *Fun in the SUn* has to be mine : ) I love it! Thanks so much for the chance to win it .... Also looking at the 600 projects...woohoo! It will take time to go through them, but thanks so much! You are awesome!
Such a cute card! You certainly are creative.
P.S. I'm having a very difficult time with the characters needed to verify the comments. I cannot decipher them. They seem different than before.
OH, I am sorry forgot to leave my crafting tip...you had me to excited.
I love everything organized, then you go exactly where to find things. I can't work in a room that is really messy. You can view my room on FB under *Time Out* Creations if you like...in photos folder
Bee-utiful! I am liking this cartridge more and more...thanks for giving it more review...I think this may have jumped onto my "must-get right away" list...thanks for sharing!

the bag is awesome and the cartridge looks like it will be loads of fun!
I love this card; its so cute!!! As for a crafting tip, I have to say I'm fond of dimentionals; they just add a little something something to every card I make to make the focal point stand out!!!
This is beautiful. Love the cartridge, fabulous pics.

1. Love your Bee. Favorite crafting tip...hmmmmmmmmm. well when I make flowers I use McGill's tools on the flowers petals and leaves and it makes them look more real.

Love the dimensionality of the bee wings. My crafting tip is to keep a board on the wall over my crafting table. One side of the board is cork where I pin little peices of this and that to keep the inspiration going. The other side is dry erase and I write out the upcoming projects or page layouts that I am wanting to accomplish. Otherwise, I get so distracted when I walk into my crafting area.
2. I am a follower and I love your blog.

Cute bee- a lot of tips I learned from YouTube videos (such as the one you did on mat llayers in the Craft Room and coloring them). Thanks!
Cute bag! Would love to win!
My favorite trick is to always make something on my cards dimensional. It adds such visual interest and everyone loves it!
My fav tip/trick: when cutting most all ribbon, use a wood burner. Most of them have interchangeable tips & mine actually has a knife blade tip & cuts right through ribbon & seals the ends perfectly to prevent fraying. Even if you don't have the knife blade tip you can use the regular burner tip. Just remember, the sheerer the ribbon the faster you slice across ribbon to prevent melting your sheer ribbons.
My crafting tip is to not be afraid of using colour and patterned paper
Hi
The fun in the sun cartridge looks like such a fun cartridge. So many birthday and holidays in the summer, this will work for practically any occasion. Would like to win it

Love the 'Bee' bag. Very clever. Would love to win the cartridge.
What a fun bag, that looks like a great cart! My tip is to keep everything organized as you work - it makes it so much easier and less frustrating if you know where your supplies are and what you have!
I have found the best tip to be keeping my Cricut mat covered when not in use. If you leave it uncovered it gets dust on it and doesn't work as good. I would love to win the Fun in The Sun Cricut Cart. Thanks for the chance.

Hi, This is Andrea from Pennsylvania and I have been in love with this cartridge since I first saw it released. Love the bee and color selection. Have a happy day!
the bee is too cute, perfect papers!
my tip is to use the xyron sticker maker for those little pieces that need to be glued together
So cute! TFS!
I was lucky enough to see this bag in person- it was super cute- Thanks Joy- pages by Lisa- CU 2012
Love the bee!! When I go to crops or retreats I always preplan projects and put everything I need for each one in individual bags (paper, embellishments, journaling, etc). I spend less time trying to think of what to do and get more projects done.
xstitchcarol@aol.com
What a fun bag! Who wouldn't love the get this bag? Love it! Thanks for sharing the files with us as well. I really don't have a crafting trick. My main tip is to clean up after each project/session. You will be more productive if you don't have to work around a mess!

OMG if this isn't the cuteiest I don't know what is ♥
Cute little bee! Summer needs to be here soon. My favorite craft tip is: put things away as you use them or at least at the end of the day.
I love your gift bag!!! Super cute and how awesome is that wing lift.
My tip to share is that I store my Cricut cartridges on an old video cabinet. They fit perfectly.
Thanks for the chance to win!
Mari
I am obsessed with Stickles! They just add so much to any project and you don't even need a lot to make a difference. It's the cherry on top of a beautiful project.
Thank you for the opportunity to win this new cartridge. It would make an excellent addition to my growing collection. Thank you too for all your great ideas and inspiration - I really really appreciate your work!
For storing cut outs I use cigar boxes from the local tobacco store, I label them, such as flowers, leaves, tools, etc. The cut outs are protected and ready to use, store neatly, and don't take up much space.
Love the new Fun in the Sun cartridge. Hope I win.
Thanks for the chance to win! My tip would be that you can use painters tape to transfer vinyl lettering to other places if you dont have transfer tape. Works very nicely!
Very cute bag. The color match perfect with the bee. Thanks for share with us! Happy day!
lopezjrivera@centennialpr.net
I love the bag--you are so talented. My big tip is to ink the edges of Cricut cuts--it really makes them pop. Hope I win!
We vacation at the beach all the time. The Fun in the Sun cartridge would be great to have :) Thanks for all your great tips!
Super adorable card! Love the little bee's wings
How cool is this Bee, colours and papers are superb, keep em coming, love all the ideas and they are achievable too which is great for a beginner like me.
Adi
Too cute. Love the saying.
I love your bee bag - really cute. I can hardly wait to get this new cartridge. My tip is to outline my die cuts with stitching lines and then chalk them as soon as I take them off the mat. It makes them standout. Would love to win the Fun in the Sun cartridge. Thanks.
What a fantastic bag! Love that bee cut. My tip is when out of transfer tape, Glad Press 'n Seal can be used to transfer the vinyl onto your project.
Gotta love the bees...so cute!
I am really into making gift bags lately and I love this one. Thanks for the chance to win.
I make gift bags for all b-day, Christmas, presents. This gift bag is sooo cute.
I want this cartridge!!! I go with a group of friends to the lake every summer and think this cartridge would make some fun layouts! Love the card today too!
What a cute bag. Love the papers. My tip is to always cut out of cheap white cardstock first. I have a terrible time judging what size something should be at so this has saved my "good" paper!
Very cute bag and I agree--cute bee!
Grandma Nan
What a great idea. I love the gift bag.
Love the bee bag! Thanks for sharing all the projects and tips. My tip is organize, organize, organize.
I love your bee bag! So cute. I would also love to win the cartridge, thanks for the chance.
loved the background paper...all the colors just pop...I forgot about this bee, I will have to remember to use it again..
awesome bag - my crafting tip is to drink a glass of wine while crafting
joydenbow@yahoo.com
I keep telling myself that I don't "need" another cartridge and then another cute one comes along and...well, I add it to my collection! Love the bee card and that you used colors other than black and yellow. Thanks for all the ideas!
your bag i adorable. love the bee. tfs.
This is a great bee, especially with the 3-D feature! Nice card!
Can not wait until summer!
Okay...that is one of the cutest bags I've seen. Love it!
LOVE the bag with the bee! As far a tip, I am VERY organized. I have all my buttons, ribbon, cording, paper, stamps, everything I could possibly use in paper crafting organized and I know exactly where everything is. If I had to search for something, I wouldn't get anything done:)
sandy1897@comcast.net
My tip is to move to a different state. Now everything is organized, labeled, and packed to go in my small workroom when we move. I will be able to find everything VBG
My other tip is to put thing back where they belong as soon as you finish using them instead of leaving some things with your unfinished project. You may start another project (like I often do) before you finish that one.
OOOh super cute bag!
Oh, I want this cartridge so bad! My tip is to clean up as I craft. It leaves less mess and then I don't mind doing another project. I keep a trash can close and toss as I go.
