Thanksgiving Wall Hanging

Hi, this is Katie from Crafting with Katie, and I am so excited that Joy and Melanie asked me to return as a guest designer this week!  For today's project, I made a Thanksgiving wall hanging.  It is made with an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of thick chipboard.  I originally bought this chipboard to use with my Cricut, but it is way too thick.  However, it's just perfect to build upon for a wall hanging!

I began by adhering an 8 1/2 x 11" piece of dark orange cardstock to the chipboard.  On top of that, I added my patterned paper, cut at 8" x 11".  I made this piece of paper by taking a pretty piece of blue patterned paper and using my Imagine to print on it some word art from the Cricut Word Collage cartridge.  To see how I was able to center the word art and use RGB codes to print in a customized color, watch the video below.

My tree is cut at 10" from the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge.  Since I didn't need the entire tree and didn't want to waste paper, I slid part of the tree off of my screen on my Gypsy and just cut the part that I wanted.

These cute leaves are from the Art Philosophy cartridge, cut at 1".  I inked around their edges with some distress ink.

Finally, I used my Crop-a-Dile to punch holes and attach some eyelets.  A piece of ribbon to coordinate with my cardstock finished it off!

Recipe:

Chipboard
Papertrey Ink Terracotta Tile, Dark Chocolate, Orange Zest, Pure Poppy, & Summer Sunrise Cardstock
Fancy Pants Designs "Beach Bum" Patterned Paper
Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink
We R Memory Keepers Large Eyelets
Papertrey Ink Terracota Tile Topnotch Twill Ribbon

Before I go, I want to welcome you to stop by my blog today to see a sneak peek of one of the My Creative Time stamp sets that is being released this Friday.  Also, Emma has graciously donated one of my all time favorite My Creative Time stamp & die sets for me to give away (shown below):  Build a Banner Kit!  Just leave a comment on my blog for a chance to win!

Beautiful! Also thanks for the tip on how to "trick" my imagine. I wish they would just let us place images where we need them to be instead of them always defaulting to the top left. :)
