Cricut Word Collage Scrapbooking Canvas

I am busy decorating my scrapbook room and noticed this word art on the new Cricut Word Collage cartridge.  I thought putting it on a canvas would be a fun way to use the word art.

For starters, I got my Cricut green vinyl out and cut this word art at 10" using the settings of blade at 3, pressure and speed at 3.  Then, I removed all the little vinyl pieces (called "weeding") so that it would look as you see above.
Here's something to know:  vinyl does not adhere well to canvas!  Ask me how I know....and how much vinyl I ruined....

So, I went ahead and adhered the vinyl to 10-1/2" x 10-1/2" white paper, using transfer tape, then laid that on a sheet of 11-1/2" x 11-1/2" black cardstock.  Finally I adhered that to my canvas using Terrifically Tacky Tape.  No problems then!
Another tip:  Don't try to staple the ribbon to the back of the canvas using a regular stapler because you are too lazy to go downstairs...  I ended up using furniture tacks to hold my ribbon in place.

Be sure and check out Joy's and Melanie's personal blogs for more creative goodness at Obsessed with Scrapbooking and Courtney Lane Designs!

Have a great day! This post may contain affiliate links.

Also if your JoAnns is out...Cricut.com has it also ON SALE for $25.99!!! I haven't played with it yet but it this is sooo CUTE and FUN! I am going to make one!
