Spooky Halloween Labels with Happy Hauntings

Hello and happy Saturday. This is Susan from Busy with the Cricky here to share a fun project. I just love the season of fall. I am sure this is from growing up in Michigan, where there is REAL fall: the leaves change, the temperatures cool down, there are days of sweatshirts, football games, cider and apple picking. Here in South Carolina fall is more like cooled to the 70s - 80s, t-shirts, football games with sunburn, and store bought cider!
I like to decorate my house for fall. I add fall foliage garlands, ceramic pumpkins, cornucopias, etc. This year I will be adding something new for the month of October only - labels on candy jars and bar items!

Using the Happy Hauntings cartridge, I cut the words/phrases POTION, POISON, WITCHES BREW, and ELIXIR, as well as frames sized to fit each word.  I inked, Stickled, and doodled the frames and affixed the words to the middle of the frames.  I cut one inch coordinating paper strips to band the bottles/decanter and affixed the labels to the strips, and then affixed the strips the bottles/decanter.

Above is a close up of the Elixir bottle. I added ribbon to the bottom and top edges of the bottle to add a bit more embellishment.

Below is the decanter with the Witches Brew label. I left the edges of the frame loose from the band around the decanter so that the bats could be seen. And again I added a then ribbon to the top edge of the decanter

Somehow we always seem to have candy in the house at this time of year.  I think we purchase candy for Trick or Treaters over and over as one of us always breaks into the candy for a snack.  Right now we are not even pretending that the candy is for the neighborhood kids - we have candy corn and Hershey Kisses in canisters.

Using the same cartridge and the same methods as above, I added labels to the candy canister - Trick or Treat and Beware!

Don't tell the others, but the BEWARE label just may be my favorite! I like the cardstocks and the color combinations that I paired on this label. Though I am also very fond of the Trick or Treat label. Overall I think I like the candy labels better than the bar labels.

The jar/bottle labels are very easy to create with your Cricut and the Happy Hauntings cartridge.  And best of all they really do add fun to the fall decorations!  I am pleased that I spent an early fall evening preparing a few fun decorations that will be enjoyed for the next six weeks!!

To see more of my work you may visit my blog, Busy with the Cricky.  I will see you again in two weeks with another fun project to share.
