Happy Saturday, this is Susan and it is the third Saturday of the month and that means it is my day to share a project with you! Back in March I attended the Cricut Circle Crop in Atlanta, GA and was introduced to Theresa Collins AND her fabulous Imagine cartridge - Baby Boutique! Theresa came to the Atlanta Crop and shared a make and take using this great cartridge - and I was hooked! I had to wait a couple of months for the cartridge to become available, but at long last I was able to purchase the cartridge!
I love all of the subtle blues, pinks and black color combinations. The printable paper is lovely as are the tags, frames, and other art on this cartridge. Oh and there is a wonderful framed alphabet! Now that Baby Boutique has been added to my library, I have decided to share it with all of you.
I began by printing three 9 x9 rounded corner squares - one of the preloaded shapes available on the Cricut Imagine - Using two prints and a solid blue from the cartridge. I chose the baby boy word print as my base card. I added black cardstock behind the subtle print top matting.
Next, I cut the elements for the front of the card - a large Welcome frame, a Baby tag, and the adorable carriage. I cut all three elements using the layers feature on the Imagine. Even though all of the layers print on the base image, I still like the texture and feel of the layers.
This is a close up of the carriage. I added a strip of ribbon across the bottom of the carriage bonnet as well as floss accented buttons to the bonnet and wheels. I used pop dots to affix the carriage to the frame.
The Baby tag was cut in three layers and I did make a pattern change on the middle layer. Again I used pop dots to affix the tag to the frame and I also added a coordinating floss trimmed button.
I added a tiny strip of ribbon and another button to the bottom of the Welcome banner. The Welcome banner has a light, light pink background but I did not find it distracting so I left it. I made a color edit to the frame under Welcome. I felt that the frame was a bit too lavendar in color so I used a medium blue Copic marker and went over the lavendar. I was much happier with the final color.
Using the light blue cardstock that I printed on the Imagine, I used an Anna Griffin stamp and stamped the word "Congratulations" in black staz on ink and trimmed the light blue cardstock to fit inside the card.
I added a vertical strip of Stampin' Up ribbon to the top matting of the card. I thought the ribbon added nice but subtle texture to the card.
