Hello, everyone!
First off, we've had lots of questions on how to leave a comment. Check out this post on our FAQ page to see how (third question down).
Today I am going to answer some of the question that were asked last week about the NEW E2 Cricut machine. I hope that this will help you all decide whether or not this machine is right for you.
- How much will it sell for? We have not been told this information yet. As soon as we know we will announce it here.
- Why is it a limited edition? Is it because of the color, the cartridges that it comes with, etc.? The color and the cartridges that are included are supposed to be apart of the limited edition. E2 machines after this limited edition will have different cartridges loaded on to it. However, the main two cartridges(Cricut American Alphabet and Cricut Essentials) may be on the non-limited edition E2's as well. It is my understanding that Just a Note and Cricut Decals are the two limited edition cartridges.
- Why would you want an Imagine and an E2? The E2 does NOT print. Only the Imagine can print. The E2 is just the 2.0 version of an expression. It will cut images from an Imagine shape cartridge, but it cannot print the images before it cuts them.
- Does the E2 have something like a "pause" and "continue" feature?Yes!
- Does DesignStudio work with the E2? Not currently, but it might in the future. It will work with the craft room though.
-How is the WI FI feature used on the E2? I do not have many details, but it will go into the middle slot on the back of the machine.
-Will you be able to wirelessly download your Scrapbook room projects to cut on the machine? I am not sure. This is a great question though!
- Will the E2 do everything my current Expression will do plus the new features? YES!
- Is it at midnight on the night of the 25th into the 26th? No, it will air at midnight on the 26th.
- Will we be able to link up the new carts that come with the E2 to our Gypsy? I am not sure, but it seems unlikely. I am not sure though.
- I noticed that you can't move the images around the mat on the screen of the E2. Is there ever going to be such a feature on the machine? You can move the images around to some extent by using the space key. I am not sure if there will be more capability later, but I will pass on this idea to product and development for you!
- Does the E2 cut chipboard, shrinky dink, etc like the E does? Yes!
- Does it have the different modes like (portrait, auto-fill, fit to page, and center-point)? Yes
- Can full size markers be used since there isn't an overhand for the blade housing? Not sure why not.
Thanks so much for all of your questions! I hope this was helpful!!

«Oldest ‹Older 401 – 565 of 565 Newer› Newest»Thanks so much for answering the questions! I have had many questions and thoughts about the machine. Am I correct in thinking that the E2 will do everything that the Imagine will do EXCEPT print? I have tried to convince myself that I do not need the printing capabilites of the Imagine---but I also KNOW that I would of course use them if I had the machine! What to do--what to do!? I'll stay tuned for more of the great information you always provide!
Shellee
I love that it has a pause/continue feature! That's one thing I have been wishing we could do with the Cricut.

I like the E2 but I think I would rather just have the Imagine. I would want the E2 just because it has carts loaded on it that I want ;)
Thanks for sharing all the info!

I can't wait to see this in action. Thanks for the awesome chance to win!
Thanks so much for all of the information. I think I'll stick with my regular expression for now. Maybe later they'll come out with the E2 in different colors like they did with the original expression.

Thanks for all the answers :D.
Can't stop thinking about the E2!!! Will be watching for it on HSN...wishing it was airing on the weekend...going to be a late night!
Thank you for explaining the new machine to us. I'm really excited, I guess I'll have to put it on my wish list.
Still not convinced I need to buy a new machine. How about great customer service for current products first.
Hmm...sounds interesting. Especially the WiFi feature.
emily@naptimeismytime.com
I love the wi-fi feature! Thanks for the information on the E2.

Thanks for the further information. Looks very cool and I'd love the extra cartridges but, not sure I will be able to get this one.
Thanks for the Q & A's...very helpful! I'm looking forward to the 26th so I can see the E2 on HSN!
Not sure I would purchase this as I already have the original E. The next thing I would purchase is the Imagine.
Thanks for giving us the info on it though.

This new E2 is so awesome. Love everything about it...and I haven't even seen one in person!! Thanks for sharing all the info you know about E2.
I just got an Expression for Christmas, but would love the E2!
janett079@yahoo.com
E2 Question - You say the cartridges are pre-loaded, does this mean they cannot be loaded to the gypsy, that they only exist on the machine ?
Thanks for the Q & A. I have another question. I have the baby bug and received the Imagine for Christmas, what does the E2 do that my machines don't? I am on the fence about if I really need it.
Very informative. Looks like a great machine but would rather have the Imagine :)
Thank you for the info, I got my E when they first came out and its starting to make funny noises (I'm a heavy user) so I will probably have to replace it soon with one of these.
No question for you - can't wait to see the E2 in action.
Thanks for the Q&A! It has answered some of my questions. I love the ability to load cartridges and the touch screen.
Thanks for the info. Any idea when the Craft Room will be available?
Thanks for all the great and informative info!
Some really great features to the E2, love the color too. Thanks for the info!
I have the original Expression, What features on the E2 would intice me to buy it? I wouldn't buy it just for the exclusive cartridges, especially if I can't use my design studio with it, or add the carts to my gypsy. I think the Imagine would be the next machine I would want.
DanielleP
Thanks for the info on the E2. Hope someone I know has one so I can try it out!
The E2 looks like a neat machine!
I am really interested in the E2 because it can cut the Imagine images but mainly for the WiFi capability. When will that be available and at what price? The E2 does not come WiFi enabled...is that correct?
I like that it can read both the standard cartridges as well as the Imagine ones, but I don't like that it doesn't work with the gypsy. I'd rather just get the Imagine (fingers still cross that I win it!)
I need more info on using the computer with the E2. Are we going to have to subscribe to a service to be able to use the craft room? All the information I can get would help. This decides whether or not I order it. Thanks for the chance to win the Imagine. I really would love to have both.

I want the E2 so bad! I think it is an awesome machine! Thank you so much for the answers!
I think the E2 is going to be great but I think my next purchase is still going to be the imagine. It would have been awesome if for the E2 they would have added the imagine print capability. Thanks for the Q&A...it does help to learn a little more.

This is a great post about the E2. I have been thinking about purchasing the E2. So thank you for all the great information.
sounds like a great inbetween for the E and the Imagine! For those who don't want to print but love the images on Imagine catridges! As for me, I'd still rather have an Imagine! :)
I think the E2 seems cool....but I just can't justify purchasing it at this time. Maybe after they tweek some things....

Looks like a great machine - I wish I could justify buying it!
Provo Craft just keeps moving on, just like the Engergizer Bunny. Can't Imagine all the buzz that goes on at that company with all the new cartridges/machines they keep coming out with. Would love to win the Imagine. Have so many ideas for what I could do with it.

Third try... can't win if you don't try! I really, really would love to win the imagine! It would be the best thing I ever won (since I have never won anything! lol)
Thank you for the answers. Very helpful!
The E2 looks awesome I can not wait to see it in person!!
I would love to have an E2 but just got my first expression 4 months ago.
Donya/okscrappinmama at gmail dot com
I agree that the E2 looks great but I heard that it's going to cost around $400 and that's just too much when I already own an Expression original machine and a baby bug. This is just not even on my wish list at this time. Maybe later I'll upgrade but since I just got my E1 for Christmas 2010, I think it will be quite a while. I have my eye set on a gypsy for now.
Thanks for the answers. I'm not sure if I want the new E2 or not. I'm very satisfied with the original E. But at least I have a little more info to go on.
Anxious to see what the price point is on this. Since I just got the Imagine and have two Expressions, I will have a hard time justifying this new one. But it looks great! Thanks for sharing!
Hugs!
thanks for all of this great info!
don't know that this is worth the upgrade - would rather have the imagine i think - but it's all a fool's errand, unless I win something there will be nothing new - no budget for crafting these days
Great information on the much awaited new E2. I really want one of these and you're making it even harder to resist!

I am still learning my Expression, but I like that this model is able to also use the Imagine cartridges.
Thanks for the info and the chance to win! I have the Expression and was considering the Imagine and now the Expression 2! I want the Wifi of the Expression 2 but the printing capability of the Imagine...which way to go? If I can't have both, I think I'll probably go with the Imagine...hmmm...
Upgrade to the Image or E2? Decisions, Decision!
Thanks so much for all this useful information. I have yet to get a Cricut of any kind, but I really want one. I just need to make a decision on which one!

I would LOVE the E2...but not sure I can afford it right now. Hubby has been laid off and now sick so no work...hoping for SSD!
Would you do a post on this craft room. I saw one of you girls mention it around the time of your cruise. From what I can gather, it's an online version of my DS???
I'm so excited for the E2. I've had my E for years, and though my budget won't allow for the upgrade right away, I'm definitely intrigued by the new machine!
Thanks for the great info on the E2.

Thank you SO very much for answering these questions! I am very interested in the new machine but I also really want the Imagine, soooo... I ponder and weigh all of the differences!!!
thanks for explaining the differences. I am not really sure why they have come out with the 2 so close together. I love my expression and hope they don't stop making things for it
I think I would choose the imagine first.. but I do like the fact the E2 has a pause feature..
The E2 has peaked my curiousity. I must do some more investigating and am sure glad you guys answer our questions. Thanks
would love to have one, thanks for helping bring answers
