Want to learn how to make Cricut Everyday pop up card?

After many requests, here is the first in a number of videos and projects that will explore how to make the pop up cards on the new Cricut Everyday Pop Up Cards cartridge!

This cute dog and "faithful friends" saying can be found on page 45 of the handbook (see below):

To start making this card, I cut the card using the card feature for the dog at 6".  The rule with these pop ups is to cut the pop up at 1/2" smaller than the card size so I cut the pop up at 5-1/2".

I thought it would fun to add a layer on top of the scallops so I used a 1" circle punch and layered the yellow plaid on top of the scalloped edge.  It worked perfectly!  Did I mention where I got this cute dog paper?  It's by SEI and called Park Buddies.  The dog is cut from some oatmeal colored Bo Bunny double dot paper.

I pop dotted the dog and the "faithful friends" word art to add some dimension.  I cut the dog at 2-1/4" using all layers.  I cut the "faithful friends" word art at 1-1/2", also all layers.  I highly recommend cutting all the layers on the die cuts - it adds so much!

Now, onto the pop up:

Regular readers know I can't resist using wiggle eyes.  I figured the card was so bulky already, what could some wiggle eyes hurt?  LOL!

Here's a top view:

I LOVE Pop Up Cards and in fact I recently emailed Cricut to see if they had any Pop Up cartridges, but they said at this point in time they didn't (guess the person didn't quite know their stock). I will certainly be taking a closer look at this cartridge. Do you know of any other cartridges that have Pop Up features?

loved the card, looking forward to get this cartridge.
you could cut the second layer of the dog for the pop up in a light paper, instead of cardstock, that way you still get the color, but not too bulky, if have 3 or more layers and with the base layer in cardstock leave the structure stable.
