Nursery Tails Sweet Cards

This is Joy and I know it's Thursday and you are expecting a layout but I felt like making cards instead. So, to make up for the fact that I don't have a layout, I offer instead two cards made with the Cricut Imagine Nursery Tails cartridge.

So, let's get started!

My first card is a standard A2 size (4-1/4" x 5-1/2").  What I did first is print and cut a rectangular section of the background patterned paper.

Then, I cut the three trees at 3" and 3-1/2", four times each.  I wanted to layer the trees with pop dots to give them some dimension.  You can see above how it adds a lot to the card.  The frame is from Spellbinders.  I also Cuttlebugged the white front section using the Swiss Dots folder (an essential)!

I added a stamped sentiment from Papertrey Ink and three more trees to the inside.

I used HP photo paper to print out the background patterned paper and the trees.  I set the print settings on "glossy" and had NO TROUBLE at all.  No smearing, no nothing.  Not only that, the colors were so nice and vibrant when using the photo paper.  I got a 150 sheets at Sams Club.

Now for my second card using Cricut Nursery Tails Imagine cartridge:

I cut the lamb piece at 4", two times so I could layer them using pop dots (see below). I cut the scalloped background at 4-1/4".  My card is sized at 6-1/2" x 5" (this was the size the cards in the pack came in).  Background paper is by October Afternoon (all patterns).

I cut the white bottom section using a new Martha Stewart punch.  I always like to add a bit of paper inside.  I left it without a sentiment because it could be a card for an expectant mother or a baby birth card or a baby birthday card - lots of choices here.
