Every so often, you need a card for that sports lover. Look no further than the Cricut Sports Mania cartridge! This thing is jam packed with cool sayings, backgrounds and layered images for all your favorite sports: football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, swimming, golf, tennis, track, baseball, softball, hockey, etc.
I needed a card to thank our neighbor for giving us tickets to the Dallas Stars. These weren't just any tickets either because we were up against the glass behind the goalie. It was great! Even more fun was the fact that the Stars were playing our favorite team, the Tampa Bay Lightning. We've been fans since they started! Here are some shots I got with my camera:
I thought I would put together this simple 5" x 7" card for a thank you.
The "Hockey is Life" and hockey player were both cut at 3" using base, layer, blackout and shadow feature keys. I chose these colors because these are the Dallas Stars colors.
I popped up the hockey player using pop dots. I also cuttlebugged the white background using the Herringbone folder.
I decorated the inside with a strip of herringbone paper and a sentiment. Paper is by Stardream (gold cardstock), Core'dinations, Basic Grey and Bo Bunny.

Goodness, that's a cute card! I like all the herringbone paper. It's busy(the paper) yet reflects just how busy and hectic a game of hockey is. Personally I don't know many hockey players as it's not a very popular sport in Arizona... go figure. I like the layout and the look and could possibly use it with a different theme... like swimming or soccer. Thanks!
