It's football season and I thought this card, tag and bag set from the new Cricut Wrap It Up! cartridge would be just perfect for that football fan in your house. My husband is a huge Notre Dame fan and so every Saturday he devotedly watches the game with the Notre Dame club while I am silently praying they will win so the weekend isn't ruined. Needless to say, if you know anything about college football, you know the last few years at our house have been difficult...
Moving on to the project - this card was cut at 4". I cut the card twice and then cut off the front layer so I could run it through the Cuttlebug using the Tiny Bubbles folder. I had to run it through twice. This folder is so convenient for adding texture to images like whales, various animals and now this football. I love the pebbly surface! The white edges were so stark that I ran them through the Cuttlebug also using the Distressed Stripes folder (another winner) and then I used some chalk ink to rough it up a little. The football was looking too stark...
This football box was a snap to put together! I cut it at fit to page using a 12x12 sheet of Core'dinations cardstock. Check out the photos below:
You could put a little bag of nuts inside this box as a quick snack - or maybe M & Ms.... yummo!
Finally, the tag is just two layers. Since I wanted the football to have white stripes, I backed just that section with a scrap of white paper and then used my scissors to trim around the football before I added the yellow layer. A bit of Stampin Up! ribbon in brown and cream seemed to be the perfect match!

how cute, I totally hear you about the weekend being good or bad depending on the football team. Sadly to say, we have had many bad weekends as this years high school team has been awful. thankfully Iowa is usually okay on Saturday, but then the Rams pull us back down on Sunday. what I wouldn't give for all 3 teams to be great.

OH, I know what you mean about the Saturday games, my hubby roots for the same team as yours. He sits there every Saturday with his jersey on, he is even thinking of getting a tatoo of the cute little Irish Man! and we live in Canada. TFS your project.

Great football projects...I love the embossing on the football!! Oh, I'm so sorry that you have to root for Notre Dame and, I apologize, but we have to root against the coach because of how he treated the U of Cincinnati players when he bailed on them last year for the playoffs :(
Now, if I can figure out a way for the ND team to do well (& your husband to be happy) but Brian Kelly to suffer, I'll be rootin' for you!
