Hello Thursday!
Don't forget that today is Provocraft's day to release new cartridges and there are some FANTASTIC releases this month! There are a few things that people have been requesting so I think you will all be pleased!
As soon as we get the go ahead, Melanie and I will be showing our projects from these cartridges on our personal blogs so head over to those to check them out!
We will also be having giveaways - don't miss out!!
Joy's Blog: Obsessed with Scrapbooking
Melanie's Blog: Courtney Lane DesignsToday, I thought I would make a cute bag from the Cricut Once Upon A Princess cartridge. Mainly, I thought I should a girl theme today since yesterday's fly layout was definitely a boy project. Once I made the bag, I just had to make a matching pop up card also.
Here are the details:
Above is the front of the bag. The bag was cut using 12"x 24" white paper on a 12" x 24" inch mat at 11-1/2" tall. It makes a sizable bag - roughly 7-3/4"tall by 6-1/8" wide by 3" deep. You could fit quite a few DVDs or games in here with room to spare. The handles were cut separately - aren't they cute bows? I added a button to the center of the bow, thanks to Melanie's input! She always is great at those finishing touches!
Here, above, you can see how thick the bag is. I used this cute Princess paper by Crate Paper. All the chipboard pieces and labels were made by them also. It is just the cutest paper going! Cardstock was by Core'dinations. The flower label on the bag was a sticker that I mounted on white paper and cut out. I punched a hole in it and threaded some green Stampin Up! satin ribbon through it (old olive color).
Here is the front of my 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" card (A2 size). The top note shape was actually created using a new Martha Stewart punch around the page set called Cherish. I think I will be using this punch set a lot! The word art and chipboard purse shape is by Crate paper, as is the paper itself. Ribbon is by Papertrey Ink and the little brad in the center of the ribbon is also by Crate Paper - if you look closely, you can see that it mimics the raindrops on the background paper.
I love making cards and layouts that move and I created a simple pop up mechanism on which to glue the "Happy Birthday" word art. This Happy Birthday word art is from the Cricut Once Upon A Princess cartridge and was cut at 2-1/2", with three layers.
See you tomorrow!
