School Day Scrapbook Layout using Cricut Lite Varsity

Oh my goodness it is Saturday and yet another month has passed.  It's my weekend here on Everyday Cricut and I so look forward to sharing with you all.  This month I have a layout to share--I just got the new CTMH 'MAGIC' book which shows tons of ways to add movable parts to your layout--this one has a picture waterfall of sorts.

I love the CTMH books because they give you TONS of sketches to base a layout or cards on--you could take just one sketch and do so many projects with different papers and cricut cuts.  If you have not checked them out you should!
The Left side is pretty simple there is a place for a 5x5 photo (the solid orange square) and I used some great vintage looking papers I found at Michael's and added a couple metal paper clips from Wal-Mart.

What would a school layout be with out the Varsity Letters--these are from the Varsity Cricut Light Cartridge--this is the Narrow as it is much easier to layer than the Varsity where you have an outline to glue down--If your doing a Large letter over 2 1/2" the Varsity will work just fine--these are cut at 1 3/4".

It's not a layout with out a little cuttelbug embossing and here I used one of the new 5x7 folders called Letterpress.  Once I embossed the Coordination's card stock I took a sanding block and allowed some of the shading to show through--which fits into the mood of the other papers perfectly!
The right page is where the 'MAGIC' Happens.

The bottom of the right page as another place for a 5x5 photo and a little journaling or a place to add a sentiment stamp.  I used those great metal paper clips from Wal-Mart here as well.

Here is where the 'MAGIC' starts.  For the base of this portion I used the same card stock I embossed earlier and used my MS score board to add a little texture and sanded it down just a bit.  The waterfall has a number of parts to it and all the directions are spelled out very clearly in the CTHM Magic book as well as on the DVD that comes in the book.  The first time I did it--it took me about 30 minutes.  The outside, which you see here, will hold seven 2x2 pictures!  So pull the tab!

Hidden under the photos is another spot to journal--I love hand writing and here is a great place to add some---not for the world to see just a special memory or story!  What a special touch.

I used a little foam tape to allow it to slide easily and added just two brads with a chipboard halo in orange to tie the whole layout together!  I love it when a layout packs a punch and this book will give you a lot of options!
You could use this layout for a first day of school, Elementary Graduation, or even to reflect on a high school graduates years in school.  Since this Layout holds up to 12 photos you could really show how someone has grown over the years all on two pages!
