Drop Dead Gorgeous Diva using Happy Hauntings & Rock Princess

Hi there this Susan, welcome to the third Saturday here at Everyday Cricut.  I am feeling a bit Gothic and Burtonesque as I have been channeling Tim Burton with this fun layout, Drop Dead Gorgeous Diva.  I used three cartridges to create this layout:  Happy Hauntings, Rock Princess, and Plantin Schoolbook.  This was my first time using both Happy Haunting and Rock Princess and I can tell from this first layout that I am going to love both cartridges.  With a little outside the box thinking you will find so many reasons and occasions to use both of these cartridges.

My divas were cut using Rock Princess, of course.  I found the most amazing paper at our local Hobby Lobby - it looks like pink textured leather and was PERFECT for the divas' skirts.  I also used pink for shoes and tiara on the sitting diva.  Her tights are cut from Basic Grey Halloween paper turned sideways.  Using the I-Rock tool, I added purple gems to her tiara, neckline and shoes.

The right page diva is a bit of a wild woman, but then what true diva isn't?   She too is sporting a pink leather skirt, her sassy French top, glittery riding boots, and a silver belt.  Her hair is cut in two layers, though it looks a bit flat in the photo.  She is riding her black and white motor cycle, probably a bit too fast!  And don't you love her back glitter goggles?

Each of the two pages features a fabulous black glittery frame cut from Happy Hauntings.  Because I did not have enough of the black glitter cardstock with the silver speckles, I created my own speckle effect.  I took basic black glitter cardstock, cut it with the Cricut, and then I sprayed the frames with gold glimmer mist.  This created a nice extra layer of detail on the frame.  It is difficult to see but the frame is trimmed with purple gems, again affixed with the I-Rock.  The frame base layers were cut in deep purple for both pages and both pages have silver and black photo mats.

The frames are trimmed with the strawberry vine cut from Rock Princess.  The left page berry vines are larger than those on the right page.  I used more of the fun pink paper to cut the berries.  I used white and cream cardstock for the flowers and finished them with I-Rock gems.

I used my favorite speckled-glittered cardstock to cut the title phrase and that may have been an error. The words are difficult to read in the photos, but look quite cute in real life.  The letters are from Happy Hauntings - I love the font on the cartridge!

Because of the glitter and metallic cardstocks used in the layout the photos loose many of the fine details.  The gems around the frame and on the vines are quite cute as are the touches of Copic markers here and there.
