Mmm, mmm, good! Veggie Soup Layout with From My Kitchen

Hi, this is Joy and today's layout was made using the fun, retro veggie paper from the Cosmo Cricket line, Garden Variety, and the Cricut cartridge, From My Kitchen.

The inspiration for this layout was have a place to record my mother's famous beef vegetable soup recipe with her secret ingredient information!

Here's the quick info on the cuts with handbook page numbers:

Soup pot (pg. 48) was cut at 9 1/4" and shadowed.
Soup stencil (pg. 48) was cut at 3 1/2" and outlined
Veggies (pg. 72) were cut at 3" and cut 3 times.

A quick word about cutting the veggies: The base key actually has to be cut 6 times - 3 in yellow and 3 in red because the tomatos and corn cut together. The green sections is just the SHIFT key with the veggies and can be cut 3 times, since that section only has green. I cut the shadow using dark brown Core'dinations cardstock.

I made the large photo section into a lift up card so that the recipe and an additional photo could go inside there. To access that, be sure and use an exacto knife on your page protector and make a flap for the photo section to be lifted.

I used a Signo white pen to make faux stitching all around the "soup" label - a Melanie trick I have adopted!! Then, I scored 3/4" x 12" strips of paper every 1/2" and folded it to make a pleated edge around the soup label. Some sections had to be trimmed to fit around the short ends of the oval. Finally, scallop punch and ribbon are from Stampin Up!.

Please leave a comment and ask any questions you may have so that we can address them at our Ustream on Thursday at 8 pm central time! Also, let us know if there are some projects or techniques you would like us to show in the Ustream. More info about how to access that will be up on Thursday.

Check out our Frequently Asked Questions by clicking HERE!

Check back tomorrow for a fun Wild Card Wednesday with video!!
