Week 12: Layout Thursday Using A Child's Year

This is Joy and I made this layout using the lovely Anna Griffin Christmas paper kit called Hannah. I LOVE Anna Griffin papers - always so elegant and sophisticated. Plus, this paper has such beautiful traditional colors!

Step one was to mount the green holly paper onto some red patterned paper, after I trimmed it down to 11.5x11.5. Here's a tip when you want to mount some paper, but also save as much as possible: Take the paper that will act as a frame (in this case, the red patterned paper) and cut a large square out the center of it. Then, you won't waste the part that is covered up!



Next, to create the title section, I used a Martha Stewart Loopy border punch to create a faux ribbon look from white paper. I LOVE this look! The white paper was cut at 3" x 12" and then more red patterned paper was mounted on top. The letters are actually green glittered Thicker letters by American Crafts. Since the title is so long, I was unable to find Cricut letters that were the height I wanted and would still fit in the space. Believe me, I tried!! ;-)

The photo mats are 4x6 and double mounted and the ribbon around them is by Papertrey Ink.



This tag is cut from A Child's Year at 2 1/2" and then stamped with Close to My Heart stamps and outlined with some white bubbly ribbon from Anna Griffin.



Finally, the children carrying the Christmas tree outline can also be found on A Child's Year cartridge and was cut at 4", regular in white and shadow was done with red Core'dinations paper. I love the cuts on A Child's Year! So versatile and cute! This cut actually formed the basis for the whole layout!

Red velvet corner pieces from Anna Griffin were added in two opposing corners and lined with the white bubbly ribbon to finish things off!
