I used one of the two ribbon images located on the new PINK JOURNEY cartridge. There is a ribbon on the STAND & SALUTE cartridge too, but I like how thick the PJ ribbon is... makes it easier to personalize. The ribbon was cut from the magnet material that I had layered pink vinyl on, then I used black vinyl to personalize it for my mother-in-law, who was diagnosed with Breast Cancer last year and is now cancer free... she is truly a Survivor! Her name was cut from CURSIVE 101 and the word 'survivor' was cut from PINK JOURNEY.

I used yellow vinyl layored on the magnet material to cut this Yellow Ribbon. I made several of these, but have alot more to make because everyone in our family will get one for Christmas this year... because my son, Patch, deploys for Afghanistan in January.

I like the size of this (9") and I like the scalloped oval from PINK JOURNEY. I welded the oval onto the ribbon with my GYPSY, but it can also be done in DESIGN STUDIO.
Here is a video showing you how I made both ribbons... (click HERE if you don't see the video below) **Sry... for some reason the GYPSY screen got brighter after uploading to YOUTUBE and is difficult to see in the video**
I also welded the words, "Support Our Troops" using the GYPSY and PLANTIN SCHOOLBOOK. I like using the magnets on my car better than placing the vinyl straight on the car, because they are much more durable to withstand weather and car washes (remove before entering the car wash... lol!).

The possiblities are endless for this project. You could make so many cute and meaningful Christmas gifts that are personalized and priceless. Not only are the magnets great for your vehicle, but look great on your refrigerator too! Cut your own picture frames for those pictures of the kids!
Thanks for visiting our blog, this is the end of WEEK9, which means that there are only 11 weeks left! Approximately 90 days before the big guy in the red suit makes a visit... don't let it sneak up on you, start planning now!
Don't forget to leave those comments for tomorrow's drawing! Midnight (central time) is the cutoff to be eligible. Good luck everyone!

Thanks for all of the adorable fantastic ideas. You always WOW me!
Hadn't thought of using magnets, great idea. Thanks for sharing.
I haven't thought of using the magnet material like that. I really like the idea. I might change up on of the window decals I'm making for a Christmas present into the magnet. Thanks
What a great project! And, thanks for the fabulous tip about the cricut mat liner. I've been having trouble with the sticky stuff sticking to the liner. I didn't know that there was a right and wrong side. Thank you for telling us that!
this is the first I've seen the magnet material used. Looks great.
Oh I could of used these 2 years ago when my son in law was in Iraq, hopefully I'll never have to make one for my son in law again, I'll pray your son stays safe over there. What a wonderful show of support if each of your family memebers puts one on their car!! soses
Tammy, I really just want to thank you and your family for the sacrifices your son Patch will be making for me to keep my freedoms! He has my support and I will keep him in my prayers. We live in the land of the free only because of the brave! Good luck to your MIL too...my MIL is also a survivor! Great ideas, always!
While those magnets are great, I would like to warn people that they can harm paint jobs on your car. We had a car with a magnet ribbon on it and the magnet scratched the paint to the point that after we took the magnet off you could still see an outline of a ribbon scratched in the paint.
Oh - I can't wait to try this! Thanks for the great ideas!
Great ideas, would never have thought of that. Thanks
What a great idea - I really want that Pink Journey cart!
Great idea. Never thought of putting the vinyl on first and doing the project once instead of twice. Thanks.
Great Project! The ribbons are very popular and would make great gifts.
I love love this!!! I was totally thinking I would try to make a yellow ribbon for my car! I support the military!! I must try this soon. I bought this cartridge just because my husband is in the military.

Oh Tammy ... what a fabulous idea to make magnetic pieces for the car. I've see the vinyl on cars, but this is the first I've seen of the cart Magnets ... I like it better I think. Thanx for the tip on layering the vinyl on the magnet BEFORE cutting ... that is going to save so much time and ensure a perfect fit too!

So glad to hear your mil is doing so well! Perfect ribbon for her.
And Patch is off to Afghanistan in January! What a thoughtful gift to your family his yellow ribbon will be!
I can see making a chart for a young child who may have a few chores to do or use it as a reward chart that can be reused. Chores such as making their bed, helping with dishes, walking a pet and the list goes on.
It gives me ideas for a car magnet, let alone other things! I live in a retirement village and there are many people here who support our troops by sending out shoeboxes filled with things. They would love car magnets for Operation Shoebox! thanks!
Great projects
Great Christams ideas. And I'll keep Patch in my prayers. My nephew is there now. His name is Kevin, please pray for his safety.
Yet another great idea from you gals!
