A Cricut Crazed Lady....

Hello! My name is Melanie you might know me from my blog Courtney Lane Designs! I am an avid scrapbooker and paper crafter. It is something I am very passionate about.

I have been married for seven years to a wonderful man named Russ who is from England. We have one son named Ethan who is five. They are the lights of my life!

I started this love about 8 years ago when I was invited by my cousin to attend a Creative Memories party. It was love at first sight! Ever since then I have been scrapbooking.

I discovered the cricut by accident one day watching the commercial on the television. After I saw all the wonderful things it could do and how it would improve my scrapbooking a hundredfold I quickly added it to my Christmas list. After that I joined the message board and learned more in a year participating on that MB than I had all the other years of scrapbooking. The next year I upgraded to my expression and fell in love again. I really do not know how I ever scrapped with out it! I just think of all the wasted money on stickers!!

I forayed into card making about a year and a half ago participating in a challenge on the Cricut Message Board. I never looked back. I even have a loyal customer who places card orders with me. Now mind you she is my Mother-In-Law, but a customer none-the-less ;) My only customer, but a customer...my DH may be paying her to order from me, but this has not been proven yet ;)

Favorite paper crafting companies of mine include: Close to My Heart(in which I am a consultant), Cosmos Cricket, October Afternoon, Papertrey Ink, SU!, Unity Stamps, and Verve to name a few. Recently I have been getting into Copic markers. I am currently taking classes and making my own series of videos for beginners.

I am a member of the Limelight design team a charitable paper crafting organization. I am also in charge of the card sketch challenges on Wednesdays on the C to Shining C message board.

I will be going back to school in the fall to study graphic design. I am hoping that this will improve my craft and potentially get me a job in the industry.
